OCERS is in the process of mailing letters to members impacted by the California Supreme Court in Alameda County Deputy Sheriffs’ Assn. v. Alameda County Employees’ Retirement Assn. (2020) 9 Cal. 5th 1032 (“Alameda”). The OCERS Board of Retirement gave OCERS’ staff several directives that went into effect on July 15, 2021 and our team has been working on the steps necessary to fully implement the Board directives. Affected members will receive a letter in  the third week of May 2022 indicating that we are continuing our work and will have another update soon.

OCERS appreciates the patience and understanding of members whose accounts are impacted by the Alameda Decision. OCERS will continue to update members with more information throughout the process.
