OCERS Assistant CEO, External Operations Suzanne Jenike Announces Retirement

Santa Ana, CA (May 2, 2024) – With over two decades of dedicated service, Suzanne Jenike, the Assistant CEO, External Operations at the Orange County Employees Retirement System (OCERS), has announced her retirement effective January 2025.

“After 25 years of dedicated service, I’m excited to dive into retirement,” said Ms. Jenike. “I’m grateful for my time at OCERS, where I’ve had the privilege of providing exceptional retirement services, and now I look forward to immersing myself in hobbies and spending more precious moments with my family.”

Ms. Jenike joined OCERS in December 1999 as an Office Technician and steadily climbed the ranks, demonstrating her commitment and expertise. As Assistant CEO, External Operations, she played a pivotal role in developing strategic directions and business plan goals for the organization. She managed the Communications, Disability, and Member Services departments, ensuring that OCERS provided members with “best in class” customer service, accurate benefit payments, and clear communication about their benefits.

Steve Delaney, CEO of OCERS, expressed appreciation for Ms. Jenike’s contributions, stating, “We are grateful for the years of hard work and the countless ways Suzanne’s knowledge and experience have made a difference, professionally and personally, in service to our members.”

During her tenure, Ms. Jenike held various positions within OCERS, including Benefit Technician, Retirement Program Specialist, Disability Investigator, and Member Services Director, showcasing her versatility and dedication to the organization’s mission.

Ms. Jenike holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Cal State University Long Beach, which has undoubtedly informed her approach to serving OCERS members with empathy and understanding.

OCERS will immediately begin recruitment to find a replacement for the Assistant CEO, External Operations role.  Mr. Delaney anticipates having a successor before Ms. Jenike’s departure in January 2025, ensuring a smooth transition for the organization.
